Delaware North joins AGA board

Delaware North is among three new members on the Board of Directors of the American Gaming Association.  The casino gaming industry trade group’s membership has increased by more than 50 percent in the last year. As the organization continues to grow and represent the totality of the casino gaming industry, its influence on public policy is growing.

“AGA’s growing membership across every sector of the gaming industry positions us to effectively advocate for the most pressing issues we face,” said Geoff Freeman, AGA president and CEO. “Gaming’s big table – made up of Tribal and commercial operators, casino suppliers, allied members – is uniting the industry and driving consensus on the most important industry issues.”

Headquartered in Buffalo, Delaware North is one of the largest privately-held hospitality and food service companies in the world. Delaware North Gaming owns and operates casinos in New York, Illinois, Florida, Arizona, West Virginia, Arkansas and Ohio.

The company will work with AGS - a slot machine and gaming tables manufacturer headquartered in Las Vegas - and Cherokee Nation Entertainment - run by the largest federally recognized tribe in the United States - as new board members.

Joining the AGA as general members are Acres 4.0, American Casino & Entertainment Properties, FireKeepers Casino, NYX Gaming and Genius Sports.

AGA’s membership growth comes as a result of a significant shift in the organization’s membership and governance structure that took effect in late 2014, when tribal gaming operators were invited to join commercial operators, casino suppliers and allied members.

AGA represents the $240 billion U.S. casino industry, which supports 1.7 million jobs in 40 states. AGA members include commercial and tribal casino operators, suppliers and other entities affiliated with the gaming industry. Its  mission is to be the "single most effective champion of the industry, relentlessly protecting against harmful and often misinformed public policies, and paving a path for growth, innovation and reinvestment."
