New Lucille Ball statue unveiled in Celoron

The Lucille Ball Comedy Festival is going on now in Jamestown, NY. On Saturday hundreds gathered at the Lucille Ball Memorial Park in the Village of Celoron to watch the unveiling of the new Lucille Ball statue.

The life-size sculpture is a remake of an older statue made seven years ago. Fans complained the old statue known as "Scary Lucy" looked nothing like the comedian.

Williamsville resident Ray Ammerman was at the unveiling. He says attendees were very excited.

The new bronze sculpture was created by artist Carolyn Palmer.  This year marks the 65th year anniversary of "I love Lucy". Lucille Ball would have been 105 years old.
