When "The Winter's Tale" opens tonight in Delaware Park, spectators will get a glimpse at a new addition for the landmark institution. Managing director Lisa Ludwig says they've replaced the stage which had stood at the bottom of Shakespeare Hill for over two decades.
The stage was purchased following a successful capital campaign which raised over $1.2 million. A special ribbon-cutting begins at 715 tonight, with the production set to start at 730.
The company is returning to its past with "The Winter's Tale," which was their first production in 1976. The production, directed by founder Saul Elkin, continues through July 17th. "The Taming of the Shrew" will run from July 28th through August 21st.
