Theater Talk: Musicalfare Fares Well in Two Venues

Musicalfare Theatre's talent pool is so deep that it's offering two musicals at once: AVENUE Q at 710 Main and HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING at Musicalfare Theatre's home in Amherst on the Daemen College campus. AVENUE Q is a wonderful collaboration between Musicalfare and Shea's Performing Arts Center, and could point to a healthy future for a Buffalo landmark.

All the local companies are pulling out the stops and putting their best on stage as we head into the end of another great season. Not only are AVENUE Q and HOW TO SUCCEED filled with major league Buffalo talent, but so is WOMEN ON FIRE, presented by O'Connell & Company, including Mary Kate O'Connell herself.

OF MICE AND MEN closes at The New Phoenix Theatre this weekend, but COMPULSION, OR THE HOUSE BEHIND continues into next weekend (Sunday, April 24th, with no performances on April 22 and 23 during Passover). Continuing through the end of the month, Subversive Theatre's THE MARK OF CAIN examines racism in America at The Manny Fried Playhouse through April 30.

Listen for Theater Talk, Friday morning at 6:45 and 8:45 during Morning Edition.
