Buffalo's theater community will be celebrating its best productions and performers Monday night. The 25th Annual Artieswill be held at 710-Main Theater downtown.
"We're very pleased that the Artie Committee has decided to relocate to 710-Main, under the Shea's umbrella and we are very excited about doingg the presentation," said Anthony Conte, President of Shea's Performing Arts Center.
Conte tells WBFO News this is the first time the Arties will be held in the 710-space. A number of video screens throughout the theater so no one misses any of the winners.
"Because at the Arties people are accustomed to getting up and getting a drink if they like, but they don't want to miss anything," noted Conte. "We have doubled the number of video screens. They will all be connected today and people will be able to watch no matter where they are in the building, except for the restrooms."
Monday evening's Arties will feature a celebrity-style 'red carpet' prior to the event.
Proceeds benefit ECMC's Immunodeficiency Services. The Arties were founded by WBFO'S Theater Talk Host Anthony Chase to celebrating Western New York's Theater community.
