New Yorkers can still apply for Heating Aid

There is still money available to New Yorkers for home heating aid. These dollars are available because of low energy prices and New York's mild winter.

Last year 1.48 million homes received assistance from the Home Energy Assistance Program better known as HEAP. This year 1.3 million households have utilized the program.

According to the state office of Temporary and Disability Assistance , HEAP is accepting applications through April 8.

Some homes can receive a one-time use of up to $625 this winter depending on the home's heating source and if they fall within income and household size restrictions.
