Report on Niagara County SPCA

A seven year veteran employee of the Erie County SPCA has been named as the interim Director of the Niagara County SPCA.

Amy Lewis will take over operations at the troubled facility beginning next week.

Attorney Paul Cambria, who is acting as an advisor at the Niagara County agency, says Lewis is an ideal candidate.

"We interviewed candidates for interim director, and we were pleased to meet and interview Amy Lewis, who is an assistant to Barbara Carr at the Erie County SPCA, who has many years of experience in all phases of animal handling, and she has accepted our offer to be interim director," said Cambria

The appointment of Lewis is the latest step in the process to restore the agency's integrity.

Last week, one of the board's longest serving members resigned, saying it was important for facility to begin moving in another direction.
