SPCA of Niagara passes surprise inspection

The New York State Department of Agriculture conducted a surprise inspection this past Friday of the Niagara County SPCA.

The agency scored positively on 18 of 19 inspection points.  The lone check-mark was in the area of euthanazations.

The Department of Agriculture cited three cases where injured dogs were put down prior to the end of the redemption period -- that's the length of time an animal must be held for possible adoption.

There were also no records of veterinary exams for the animals on file to show that the euthanizations were warranted.
