Empire State Development has announced the final schedule for strategic plans to be presented. They will be released starting Monday, November 28th, 2011.
Regional councils from across the state are competing for millions of economic development dollars.
The Western New York Regional Economic Development Council approved its five-year strategic plan and will now be submitted in Albany Wednesday morning. It is one of ten statewide councils formed at the request of the Cuomo administration that is vying for $200 million in competitive funding for local economic development programs to re-energize the state’s economy. Only four of the ten regional councils will be awarded funding to develop “priority projects”.
Friday ESD announced the final schedule of presentations for the strategic plans submitted by the ten Regional Economic Development Councils.
Each region will have an opportunity to make an in-person presentation according to the following schedule:
Monday, November 28, 2011:
Long Island Regional Economic Development Council - 2 p.m.
Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council – 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, November 29, 2011:
Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council – 9 a.m.
Capital Region Regional Economic Development Council - 10:30 a.m.
Central New York Regional Economic Development Council - 12 p.m.
New York City Regional Economic Development Council - 2:30 p.m.
Mid Hudson Regional Economic Development Council – 4 p.m.
Wednesday, November 30, 2011:
Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council - 8:30 a.m.
North Country Regional Economic Development Council – 10 a.m.
Western New York Regional Economic Development Council - 11:30 a.m.
