Another car rams through a storefront window

By Mark Wozniak

Orchard Park, NY – For the ninth time in the past nineteen days, a vehicle has crashed into a building in Western New York.

No injuries were reported when a 78-year-old woman drove her car into the Jos. A. Bank men's clothing store at 3995 North Buffalo Street, Orchard Park.

The store manager and two sales associates were in the store at the time, shortly after noon Monday. A police investigation is underway.

There has been a rash of similar storefront crashes over the past few weeks, including a fatal crash through a restaurant window in Amherst a few weeks.

Amherst lawmakers are considering that safety barriers be installed at new businesses. Several site plan modifications and building code changes are being considered. Those will be presented for public comment, with Board members hoping to vote on the changes before the end of the year.
