Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo School Board has agreed to a better than $750 million dollar budget for the coming school year, but that budget calls for numerous layoffs.
The superintendent's office has estimated that job cuts will affect more than two hundred and fifty workers and the mailing of notices to teachers, aides and classroom assistants began late last week. In light of these job losses and looming budget cuts, Sam Radford, Vice President of the District Coordinating Council, claims that new directions toward education are going to be necessary.
The Buffalo School District is facing a $54 million budget gap.
