Buffalo, NY – First Niagara Financial Group says it expects to add 500 jobs over the coming five years. The fast growing Buffalo-based bank is receiving $5.7 million in state tax credits from the Empire State Development Corporation.
First Niagara President John Koelmel said the bulk of the new jobs will end up at the bank's headquarters in Buffalo's Larkin District. The company has already added about 300 jobs locally since moving its headquarters to Buffalo.
Koelmel said they will continue to invest in the company's larkin District headquarters. He said the new jobs will pay an average of $75,000 a year, including benefits. No information was available about the range of salaries.
