Buffalo, NY – A Louisiana activist and one of the nation's leading environmental scientists will speak Monday night in Tonawanda at an event hosted by the Clean Air Coalition of Western New York.

Activist Eboni Cochrane launched an air monitoring program in Louisville with the expert help of Wilma Subra, a nationally recognized environmental chemist and biologist.

During her 30 years of activism, Subra has been the target of violence from industries not happy with her successful efforts on behalf of communities. WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked with Subra about how she hopes to help the Coalition with their ongoing efforts to clean up emissions from Tonawanda Coke and other plants.

Wilma Subra and Eboni Cochrane will speak Monday night at 7:00PM at the Sheridan Parkside Community Center, 169 Sheridan Parkside Drive in Tonawanda.
