Buffalo school teacher arrested on drug charges

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – A Buffalo school teacher is under arrest on drug charges.

The Erie County Sheriff's Department says Victoria Minella, 30, was taken into custody Thurday night. Sheriff's officials say she was allegedly in possession of the drug Ecstasy.

Minella is a teacher at School 79, the William Grabiarz School of Excellence.

"Teaching is one of the most trusted and influential possessions in our community," Erie County Undersheriff Mark Wipperman said Friday. "(She)betrayed her colleagues, her profession, and she betrayed her students."

Minella pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession with intent to sell. She'll return to court next Wednesday.
