Giuliani Eyeing Senate Challenge in 2010

By WBFO News

Albany, NY – Rudy Giuliani is said to be considering a run for the US Senate.

The Giuliani camp is denying the reports that initially surfaced in the New York Times that he has decided not to run for governor. But those close to the former New York City Mayor say he is interested in challenging freshman Democratic Senator Kirstin Gillibrand.

"From staff, we have been hearing that he has been indicating quietly and privately recently that governor might not be the best fit for him now," one adviser told the Associated Press Thursday. "But the U.S. Senate could be a perfect fit for him."

Insiders have been watching polls which show Giuliani could beat Gillibrand in 2010.
