Buffalo, NY – Officials of USA Hockey say Buffalo will host the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championships. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Sabres owner Tom Golisano were on hand for Monday's announcement. Dave Ogrean executive director of USA Hockey, said Buffalo beat out 20 other cities for the prestigious tournament.

It's expected the tournament will have a $20 million impact on the local economy. HSBC Arena and Niagara University's Dwyer Arena will host the games for players under 20 from around the world. Sabres season-ticket holder and mini-pack holders will have first shot at buying tickets.
