Buffalo, NY – Two anti-casino groups have filed motions in Federal Court that would require the National Indian Gaming Commission to shut down the Seneca Nation of Indians temporary casino in Buffalo.
The groups are also asking the court to hold the commission in contempt for failing to carry out previous court orders against the casino.
The Senecas aren't commenting. But the attorney representing the anti-casino groups says the Senecas withdrew their latest effort to obtain a new gambling ordinance from the commission.
The Senecas have ceased construction of their permanent casino, claiming a poor economy.
