Buffalo, NY – The state is providing $250,000 for improvements to Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park.
Most of the money will be used to replace the bike path that rings the lake and for the installation of new lighting and park benches.
The rest will be set aside to address the lake's water quality issues. Special plantings along the water's edge will help filter runoff before it enters the lake, hopefully reducing the algae build-up.
State Assemblyman Sam Hoyt secured the state funding for the lake that is named after his late father.
The improvements will be completed next summer.
