Buffalo Police Commissioner Defends Delano Suspension

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Police Commissioner McCarthy Gipson is defending his decision to suspend police detective Dennis Delano.

Gipson spoke out Monday after meeting behind closed doors with the Buffalo Common Council.

Detective Delano was suspended without pay and faces departmental charges. Gipson says Delano released two videos to a T-V station without authorization. Those videos contain crime scene from the death of Lynn DeJac's daughter Crystallynn 14 years ago and a polygraph test given to DeJac's former boyfriend Dennis Donohue. Gipson says Delano could have tainted the investigation.
