By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – A local woman with Cuban roots reacted to news that Fidel Castro is stepping down after 49 years in power.

Marta Hiczweski is a successful American business woman. She runs her own marketing company in Buffalo. But she can quickly recall details of her life in Miami as a young child.

Marta was only three when her grandparents came to live with her family in Miami to escape the communist rule of Castro in Cuba.
