Buffalo, NY – He was once a copyboy for Edward R. Murrow and went on to become one of television's top news executives. Av Westin will be appearing in Buffalo Wednesday night to talk about the evolution of TV news.
Westin spent 20 years at CBS, producing such news programs as "CBS Reports" and "Eyewitness to History." But Westin is best known for his years at ABC News where he was executive producer for World News Tonight. He also oversaw the development of the news magazine "20/20."
Westin will talk about "TV News from Murrow to MSNBC" Wednesday night at 7 at the WNED Studios. His talk is open to the public for a nominal charge benefiting the Buffalo Broadcasters Association, a group dedicated to preserving Buffalo's broadcasting history. Tickets will be available at the door.
