Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller is partnering with Carly's Club for Kids and Cancer Research at Roswell Park on a program that will address the emotional needs of pediatric cancer patients and their families.
It's been a difficult past couple of months for Ryan Miller. His cousin, Matt Schoals, died after a valiant struggle against leukemia. And though it pales in comparison to what Matt went through, Miller's once mighty Sabres have been struggling this season.
Yet, Miller is not letting the setbacks deter him from making a difference. The Steadfast Foundation he created last year is donating $50,000 to Carly's Club. He met Tuesday with a group of pediatric patients and their families. And he found a couple of moments to talk with us on the phone.
