Clean-a-thon for Buffalo's Fruit Belt

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – Students from the Futures Academy are teaming up with community groups and the Eastside Neighborhood Transformation Partnership of UB's Center for Urban studies.

They are participating in the 6th Annual Spring Clean-a-thon.

Jackie Hall is the project director. Hall says the students will assist in clean up of the Fruit Belt. They will help clear vacant lots of debris and cut high grass.

Hall say residents, the Fruit Belt block clubs, Teen Challenge, the Mayor's Impact team and Buffalo medial campus are all assisting in this clean-a-thon. Hall says this year they've expanded their partnerships.
