Buffalo Firefighter Critically Injured

Buffalo, NY – A Buffalo firefighter is in critical condition after being injured while battling a blaze at an abandoned house Sunday night.

Firefighter Mark Reed was hurt when a chimney collapsed on him. He's at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.

Fire officials say Reed and other firefighters were inside the burning home when the chimney fell. Department officials say Reed suffered head, chest and leg injuries.

Investigators say arson is suspected in the fire.

The building was destroyed.
