Niagara River Greenway Plans Move Forward

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Plans for the Niagara River Greenway are now official.

New state Parks Commissioner Carol Ash was in Buffalo Thursday to sign off on documents that detail the vision for the Niagara River corridor from Buffalo to Youngstown. The greenway will link parks, recreation areas and trails along the river. Thirteen municipalities have agreed to participate.

The commission charged with coming up with the plan will now review specific projects to make sure they comply with the overall vision. Among the priorities is improving access to the water in areas where it's limited or obstructed.
