Buffalo, NY – Police Department spending was under review Thursday by the Buffalo Common Council during budget hearings. The Mayor's proposed budget calls for the hiring of 40 new police officers.
Lawmakers questioned Police Commissioner McCarthy Gipson about how officers are tackling serious crime and quality of life issues. Fillmore District lawmaker David Franczyk says too much noise is a big issue for his district.
