Buffalo, NY – An enrollment drive is on at the new Mount St. Joseph Academy in Buffalo.
A group of parents who saved the school from closing by the Sisters of St. Joseph obtained an academic charter from the State Board of Regents last month. But trustee Steven Boyd says more students are needed to make their business plan work.
"We estimated our budgets at about a 25 percent drop in enrollment," Boyd said. "The drop has been a little bit more than that. But what we really feel is that we need to put a push on now to enroll 25 new children in the next week."
Boyd said an open house for prospective students and their families will be held Sunday morning.
