Photographers Help Foster Children Find Homes

New Jersey has become the latest state to recruit renowned photographers to take pictures of foster children available for adoption. Known as a Heart Gallery, the idea is to get the pictures out into the world with the hope that a loving family will respond.

The Heart Gallery idea began in New Mexico and soon spread to Massachusetts, Florida, Ohio and Connecticut. In Hartford, some 40 photographs of foster children resulted in 19 adoptions.

New Jersey is the site of the largest project yet. Heart Gallery New Jersey aims to photograph 328 kids -- every foster child who is legally available for adoption.
