Snow Storm Dumps Five to Ten Inches, More to Come

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – Heavy snow fell across Western New York late Monday and early Tuesday.

Snow fall amounts varied across the region. Lockport and Alden received eight inches. Clarence reported seven inches. Six inches fell in Amherst and Cheektowaga. Five inches were reported in Hamburg and Elma. In Medina, in Orleans County, 9-and-a-half inches of snow fell.

A snow advisory was in effect Tuesday for Niagara and Orleans County. Those areas were expected to receive another three to five inches of snow.

For Metro Buffalo, another two to three inches of snow was expected Tuesday.

By the time this storm system moves through the region, total accumulations will reach six to ten inches of new snow by Wednesday, more in Niagara and Orleans Counties.
