Buffalo, NY – Motorists who use the New York State Thruway may soon see a 25 percent increase in tolls.
The Buffalo News reports the Thruway authority could give preliminary approval to the plan as early as tomorrow.
The toll increase, the first in sixteen years, would help fund a nearly two billion dollar capital improvements project, which would include moving the Williamsville toll barrier, and rebuilding other area toll facilities.
Sources tell the News that the proposal does not remove toll facilities on the Niagara section, but it will provide commuter discounts for regular users.
