Buffalo, NY – Republican Nancy Naples has conceded in the 27th congressional district race against Democrat Brian Higgins.
Naples made the announcement Thursday night at Erie County Republican Headquarters. She congratulated Higgins and said it was time to end the count of absentee ballots.
Naples says she made substantial gains in narrowing the margin against Higgins, but there were not enough votes to win. Naples noted that only 2,800 votes separated her from Higgins.
Higgins -- now officially Congressman-elect -- is already in Washington this week for his orientation.
