WD-40 Executive Says His Product Will Live On As Long As There Are Squeaks

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – The World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara began hosting World Trade Week events Tuesday. Wednesday night, the ninth annual World Trade dinner will be held. This year's keynote speaker leads a company that makes a product that fixes squeaks. WD-40's president and CEO Garry Ridge is in Buffalo to offer advice to local businesses selling internationally.

WD-40, Lava hand cleaner, and Two Thousand Flushes are among the well-known products manufactured by the WD-40 Company. Corporate headquarters are located in San Diego, but its products are marketed in more than 160 counties. And it all started with the WD-40 spray lubricant created 51 years ago.

The company has annual sales of more than $200 million. Ridge has been with the company since 1987. He has worked in 48 countries with a focus on the Pacific Rim and Asia.
