Disco Party Canceled but Dance Goes On

By Joyce Kryszak

Buffalo, NY – Friday night's scheduled reunion party in Buffalo for the popular "Disco Step-By-Step" is canceled for this year.

Out of town organizers said plans failed to come together in time to ensure a successful local event.

But nationwide, disco fever still sizzles.

Disco is a nearly thirty-year long success story. From the Bee Gees and Donna Summers - to the reincarnations of hip hop and disco house music. Disco is still stayin' alive.

The 70's "Disco Step-by-Step" hit dance show in Buffalo was one of the first places the nation heard about disco.

Original program host and producer Marty Angelo said the reunion party has also been a big hit for the past three years. But he said they're now planning bigger, less frequent events, and plenty of other Disco promotions.

WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked Angelo about the reincarnation of Disco's popularity.
