Buffalo, NY – Former Erie County Legislature Chairman Charles Swanick is expected to be appointed chairman once again.
The long-time Democrat will switch his affiliation to the Republican party as part of a new alliance with County Executive Joel Giambra.
The Legislature failed to elect a new chairman last month, meaning that Giambra can now appoint one.
The switch gives the Republicans a clear majority in the Legislature.
