Buffalo, NY – Three anti-abortion activists who were arrested during a protest at Buffalo GYN Womenservices Clinic in October were sentenced to 30 days in jail Thursday.
They're believed to be the first activists to be convicted under a new state law designed to protect health care workers and patients at abortion clinics.
All three protestors are from out of town, and two have already served their sentence, as they were in police custody since their arrests.
The three were demonstrating in support of James Kopp, awaiting trial for the shooting death of Dr. Barnett Slepian.
Legal authorities say the three would face felony charges if arrested again.
