Buffalo, NY – The American Red Cross is asking donors across New York to make an appointment to give blood during the holiday season.
The Red Cross launched a promotion Monday that it's calling "Light Up A Life." From now through January 4th, officials are hoping to receive up to 3,000 more blood donations across the upstate region.
They're hoping to avert the usual ten percent drop-off in blood donations during the upcoming holiday season. They say demand for blood does not drop off.
The area's blood donation sites in Depew, Clarence, Tonawanda and Hamburg will all be open from 3pm to 8pm Tuesday, accepting donations.
The Red Cross Blood Mobile will be at UB's Student Union on the North Campus Wednesday from 9am to 3pm.
