Grant Program Benefits Ellicott District Businesses

By Lisa Litzinger

Buffalo, NY – Some Ellicott District business owners have a new incentive to improve their storefronts.

Common Council Member Brian Davis announced Wednesday a program to provide two thousand dollar grants to qualifying businesses. Business owners will be able to use the funds for exterior improvements.

Davis says these grants are needed to spur ecomonic growth in Ellicott District neighborhoods.

"We're going to call on businesses to really take advantage of the grant opportunity that's going to be here," Davis said. "$2,000 can go a long way. It is my commitment, as it has been since day one to really work at trying to strengthen our cores in our various communities in the Ellicott District."

Davis says eligible businesses should contact his office or the Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation to apply for the grants.
