Albany, NY – Using a cell phone while you’re driving may cost you money, but it won’t cost you points on your license.
The Department of Motor Vehicles has decided not to assess points, as they do for other moving violations, when drivers are ticketed for using a hand-held cell phone in their vehicle.
They say if the cell phone use results in erratic driving, another ticket will likely be issued for a violation that does put points on your license.
