Bills trade up, draft receiver Sammy Watkins

The Buffalo Bills made a trade to move up in the NFL draft Thursday night and selected Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins. The Bills, at number nine, swapped with Cleveland for the Brown's pick at fourth overall.  The Bills also gave up their first and fourth round draft choices in 2015.

Bills President Russ Brandon said Watkins was high on the Bills radar entering the draft.

"We went into this draft saying we were going to be bold," Brandon said.  "And we made a bold move."

The 6-foot, 211-pound Watkins finished with 240 catches for 3,391 yards and 27 touchdowns in his three seasons at Clemson.

Just minutes after the Bills' selection of Watkins, the Oakland Raiders used the fifth overall pick to select UB Bulls linebacker Khalil Mack.
