Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello has officially kicked off his campaign for New York State Senate.
In front of family, friends and supporters in Mayville, Borrello announced he is the endorsed Republican, Conservative and Independent to replace Catherine Young, who retired in February to take a job at Cornell University.
Borrello cited his experiences as an elected official and successful small business owner as being important to addressing the needs of the Southern Tier and Western New York.
He will face off against Cattaraugus County's Austin Morgan of Freedom, NY, who has the Democratic and Working Families endorsements.
Morgan graduated from Cornell this semester, ran a 40-employee student company while at Cornell and has worked at the State Senate.
