Cuomo and De Blasio announce agreement on funding MTA Capital Program

Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio have ended their funding feud regarding the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Today, the two along with MTA Chairman Tom Prendergast announced the agreement reached on the remaining funds for the MTA Capital Program. New York State will contribute $8.3 billion and New York City will give $2.5 billion toward the plan. The $26.1 billion program is the largest investment ever made in MTA infrastructure. Cuomo says the plan will mean a safer, stronger and more reliable transit system. The program outlines investments made to renew enhance and expand the MTA network over the next five years.
