County democrats find new home

The Erie County Democratic Party is moving its' headquarters from the Ellicott Square building to the Larkin district effective in March of this year.

Erie County Democratic Chair Jeremy Zellner announced the move, calling "Larkinville "one of the most encouraging things to happen in Buffalo in a generation."

"The Ellicott Square Building is a great location and will always be a notable part of our history," said Zellner.

"Although we are moving forward, we will not forget the great things that the party accomplished at the Ellicott Square Building. We worked hard on behalf of Democratic candidates in our offices and hosted memorable victory parties in the lobby on election night. However, the revitalization of the Larkin District is one of the most encouraging things to happen in Buffalo in a generation, and we are excited to be a part of it."

The democrats had been located in the Ellicott Square Building for nearly 20 years, a building owned by Buffalo developer and Republican Carl Paladino.

The party's new offices will be on the ground floor of the Larkin Center of Commerce.
