Water Amnesty Program extended for Buffalo residents

Buffalo Water Authority

The Buffalo Water Authority is extending its Water Amnesty Program to eligible City of Buffalo residents until June 30.

The program waives any late fees or interest associated with an account balance for individuals who had their water service turned off due to delinquent payments, perhaps due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program also waives the meter fee and forgives any charge related to a burst meter, if applicable.

Those who sign up will have to agree to a 12-month plan to repay past due amounts. Customers will also be enrolled in automatic monthly billing to keep current, and an advanced reading technology meter will be installed.

More information is available at getwaterwisebuffalo.org or by phone at 716-847-1065.
