Missing 6-year-old LA girl found unharmed in Buffalo

National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
Talia Jones (l) and her mother, Melinda Davis, have been found in Buffalo.

A six-year-old California girl who has been missing for more than a year has been located in Buffalo.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Talia Jones was last seen June 17, 2019 in Los Angeles. A Crime Stoppers tip in LA reported the girl and her mother may have fled to Buffalo.

Police discovered the pair in the 100 block of Stevens Street, on the city's East Side, Monday morning, after a joint investigation by the Marshals Service and Buffalo Police. Melinda Davis, 43, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from LA for felony child abduction.

Authorities said the child was safe and has been placed with the Erie County Department of Child Services.
