Facebook

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz posted the latest COVID-19 numbers for the county on his Twitter page Saturday. More than 2,500 tests for COVID-19 were reported to the County Health Department Friday, with 54 new confirmed cases. That's a positivity rate of 2.1%, the first time in nearly a month that figure topped 2%.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo shared the latest statewide data Sunday morning. The rate of confirmed cases to those tested was .84 percent Saturday, while hospitalizations continue to trend downward at 832.

There were eight deaths statewide Saturday from COVID-19.

"As we end this holiday weekend, I urge everyone to be New York Tough: wear a mask, socially distance, use hand sanitizer and continue the smart practices that have made our state a national leader in combatting this virus," Cuomo said.
