Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Comptroller Barbara Miller-Williams and Common Council President Darius Pridgen have nominated Jason Shell to be the new city Commissioner of Assessment and Taxation.
If the nomination is approved by the Common Council, Shell will replace Martin Kennedy, who recently resigned after a nearly 30 year career in City Hall.
Shell has served for 11 years in the Brown administration as Administrator of Public Works, Deputy Commissioner of Buildings and Energy Management and Quality of Life Program Manager for the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency.
Shell graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the State University of New York at Brockport.
