Funeral arrangements have been announced for Capt. Carl "Keifer" Stahlman, the 19-year veteran of the Niagara Falls Fire Department who was killed in an off-duty traffic accident Christmas Eve.

City fire officials say the 51-year-old was riding his motorcycle on his way home from work, when a 19-year-old Grand Island woman pulled out of an exit by the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls and hit his bike.

Police say Stahlman was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

Visiting hours have been set for Sunday, 2-8 p.m. at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home in Niagara Falls. Stahlman's funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls.
