Community Beer Works taps community for clean up

WBFO News

For more than 6 years, Community Beer Works has been a growing business in Buffalo. As the business has grown, so has their interest in bettering the community. Kyle Tymon (Timon) is the Community Outreach Organizer for the company. He is heading a three-pronged approach to improving their neighborhood and the city. It begins with a Community Clean Up today, but it goes well beyond that.

"We also are going to be doing something called a community tap, where we are going to go to friendly breweries that we've been with for a long while, and we're going to do some keg donation events, where then they can take the proceeds of our sales and then donate that. Then, we're going to be joining up with some other organizations, like Journey's End, D'Youville, and we're going to, hopefully, start doing things like career building, mentorships."

Today's clean up will focus on the West Side neighborhood around their 7th Street headquarters. The plan is to extend these efforts to the East Side and to other areas throughout the city.

Free beer and food were provided to those who participated in today's event.

Saturday & Sunday 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
