The Erie County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident on Transit Road in the Town of Elma. It occurred just after 10 p.m. Saturday between Clinton Street and French Road.
A responding deputy found a male victim lying on the roadway. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo where he was pronounced dead.
Sheriff's officials say the victim did not have an ID so they're not able to identify him. They describe him as a black male in his 60s with gray balding hair and a gray beard. He was wearing a tee-shirt and jeans.
So far, no charges have been filed against the driver.
