Bounce House goes airborne, injures several children

The Maize

Bounce houses are usually a fun activity, but this is the story of the house that bounced too far.

The Niagara County Sheriff received several 911 calls Sunday reporting a bounce house, located at "The Maize" in North Tonawanda, was thrown into the air as the result of a wind gust. The Halloween attraction traveled approximately 50 feet from its original location in the corn maize.

There were several children playing in it at the time. They were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

However, a 76-year-old woman standing next to the attraction at the time it went airborne was struck and dragged by the bounce house approximately 20 feet. She was transported by Twin-City Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Niagara County Sheriff is asking anyone who had children in the bounce house at the time of the accident and did not report it, to call Deputy Daniel Zimmerman at 438-3393.
